Supertonic 3 Local TTS Integration
License and copyright notices

This file is a practical license and attribution notice for this local ZIP/workspace package.
It is not legal advice. It does not replace the original licenses of Supertonic, Supertonic 3
model assets, faster-whisper, Whisper-family models, or other dependencies.

0. Public TTS API service (SaaS, no binary distribution)

Operating model:
This public HTTP TTS API runs on the operator's own server (Docker container). Users receive
generated audio files and API responses only. FFmpeg binaries, Docker images, and server
application source code are not distributed to users or third parties.

FFmpeg usage:
FFmpeg is invoked server-side to convert synthesized WAV to MP3 (libmp3lame). FFmpeg is not
bundled in download ZIPs for end users in this deployment path. The operator does not publish
or convey FFmpeg binaries to API consumers.

License posture for this non-distribution model:
When FFmpeg is used only inside the operator's server and no FFmpeg binary, Docker image, or
install package containing FFmpeg is distributed to third parties, traditional GPL/LGPL
source-offer obligations tied to binary distribution generally do not arise for that usage.
This summary is practical guidance, not legal advice. If distribution plans change (Docker Hub,
on-premise delivery, client installers), review FFmpeg build flags and GPL/LGPL obligations again.

Runtime FFmpeg builds in this project:
- Docker service: Debian/Ubuntu package (apt install ffmpeg), typically LGPL-oriented distro build
- Local Windows dev/host (optional): Gyan.FFmpeg full build (GPLv3, --enable-gpl --enable-version3)

Privacy settings (public SaaS, 2026-05-27):
- SUPERTONIC3_NO_TEXT_PERSIST=1 — do not write script/srt/vtt/input_log sidecars
- SUPERTONIC3_EPHEMERAL_AUDIO=1 — delete generated wav/mp3 and related artifacts after TTL
- SUPERTONIC3_EPHEMERAL_TTL_SEC=3600 — default 1 hour retention for downloadable audio
- Usage log SQLite stores statistics only (no text body, no IP)
- Processing-time memory access cannot be eliminated on server-side TTS

1. Short notice for download pages

1) This ZIP is a local integration package that uses the official Supertonic 3 ecosystem and
faster-whisper to provide local TTS generation, subtitle files, and subtitle refinement.

2) The original code, model weights, and third-party packages are governed by their own
upstream licenses. "Free download" or "free local use" must not be read as unlimited rights.

3) Users are responsible for the text, audio, subtitle files, and any other output they generate.
Do not use this package for impersonation, non-consensual voice cloning, deceptive audio,
harassment, unlawful content, or harmful automated generation.


2. Korean public-content notice

이 섹션은 다운로드 페이지, 블로그 칼럼, 공개 배포 안내에 붙일 수 있는 한국어 요약입니다.
법적 자문이 아니며, 원본 라이선스 전문을 대체하지 않습니다.

License:
MIT License

Meaning for users:
Supertonic을 호출하는 예제 코드와 문서는 비교적 자유로운 MIT 라이선스를 따릅니다.
이 도구가 어떤 공개 기술 위에서 동작하는지 확인할 때 참고하는 영역입니다.

Check:
코드 라이선스가 MIT라고 해서 음성 모델 가중치까지 동일한 조건이 적용되는 것은 아닙니다.
모델 사용 조건은 별도로 확인해야 합니다.


2) Supertonic 3 모델 가중치

License:
BigScience Open RAIL-M / OpenRAIL-M style model license

Meaning for users:
실제 음성 합성을 담당하는 모델 가중치에는 책임 있는 AI 사용 조건이 붙습니다.
개인 테스트와 공개 콘텐츠 제작은 성격이 다르므로, 외부에 공개되는 결과물에 활용하기 전
모델 라이선스 조항을 검토하는 편이 안전합니다.

Check:
무료로 다운로드할 수 있다는 사실과 무제한 사용 권한이 부여된다는 사실은 다릅니다.
특히 사칭, 무단 음성 복제, 유해 콘텐츠 자동 생성 같은 용도는 제한됩니다.


3) faster-whisper

License:
MIT License

Meaning for users:
생성된 WAV를 다시 분석해 실제 발화 구간에 가까운 SRT/VTT 자막을 만드는 데 사용합니다.
자막 정확도가 필요한 영상 제작 흐름에 유용합니다.

Check:
faster-whisper 런타임은 MIT License입니다. 다만 Whisper 계열 모델 파일을 별도로
다운로드하거나 묶어 배포하는 경우, 해당 모델 파일의 라이선스와 배포 조건을 따로 확인해야 합니다.
최초 모델 다운로드에는 인터넷 연결이 필요할 수 있습니다.


4) FFmpeg

Scope:
Optional external installation, not bundled in this ZIP.

License:
Gyan FFmpeg builds: GPLv3, as described by the publisher.
FFmpeg project: generally LGPLv2.1-or-later, but builds with GPL components are governed by GPL terms.

Meaning for users:
FFmpeg는 Supertonic 3 WAV 생성에 필수가 아닙니다.
FFmpeg가 없어도 로컬 웹 UI와 TTS 음성 생성은 사용할 수 있습니다.
다만 MP3, M4A, MP4 같은 비-WAV 미디어 입력, 미디어 변환, 변환 기반의 정밀 자막 싱크는
제한될 수 있습니다.

Check:
이 ZIP에는 FFmpeg 바이너리가 들어 있지 않습니다. 실행.bat은 사용자 PC에 ffmpeg가 없을 때만
winget으로 Gyan.FFmpeg 설치를 제안합니다. 실행.bat은 FFmpeg 라이선스 설명 후 이해 여부와
설치 동의를 두 번 확인합니다. --skip-ffmpeg로 설치 제안을 건너뛸 수 있습니다.

If FFmpeg binaries are redistributed:
GPL FFmpeg 바이너리를 ZIP, 설치 패키지, 제품, 서비스 구성물로 제3자에게 배포하거나 제공하는 경우
GPL/LGPL에 따른 저작권 고지, 라이선스 고지, 소스코드 제공 또는 source offer 등 추가 의무가
생길 수 있습니다. 개인 PC에 별도로 설치해 자신만 쓰는 경우와 재배포/서비스에 포함하는 경우는
책임 범위가 다릅니다.

Meaning for users:
이 패키지는 Supertonic 3, faster-whisper, 로컬 Flask UI, 실행 스크립트, 샘플 대본,
샘플 음성을 한 작업 흐름으로 묶은 통합 도구입니다.

Check:
공식 Supertone/SYSTRAN 제품이 아닙니다. 생성 음성, 대본, 자막, 로그, 공개 콘텐츠에 대한
책임은 사용자에게 있습니다. ZIP 루트의 LICENSE_NOTICES.txt와 로컬 서버 실행 후
http://127.0.0.1:3093/license-notices 에서 같은 고지를 확인할 수 있습니다.


4. Public use and redistribution checklist

1) ZIP 루트의 LICENSE_NOTICES.txt를 유지합니다.

2) Supertonic 예제 코드를 재배포하면 upstream MIT 고지와 라이선스를 보존합니다.

5) 현재 ZIP은 FFmpeg 바이너리를 포함하지 않습니다. 향후 FFmpeg를 묶어 배포하면 GPL/LGPL에

If this package includes copied or modified source code from the upstream repository, keep
the upstream copyright notice and MIT license terms with that code.

Important boundary:
The MIT license for the GitHub example code does not automatically apply to the Supertonic 3
model weights. Code license and model license must be treated separately.

How it is used here:
The local app calls the Supertonic Python SDK, which may download Supertonic 3 model assets
from Hugging Face on first use. If model files are bundled into a ZIP, mirror, cache, Docker
image, or offline package, include a copy of the upstream model LICENSE file and preserve
all attribution and usage restrictions.

Important restrictions:
The model license includes use-based restrictions. The following summary is not exhaustive.
Users must not use the model or generated output for unlawful activity, harming minors,
deceptive generation, undisclosed machine-generated content where disclosure is required,
harassment, defamation, impersonation or deepfakes without consent, discriminatory uses,
medical advice or interpretation, or law-enforcement/justice decisions such as predictive
profiling. Check the upstream model license before redistribution or public service use.

Output responsibility:
The upstream model license states that users are accountable for the output they generate
and for later uses of that output. This local package does not transfer that responsibility
to Supertone, SYSTRAN, the local UI author, or the packager.

How it is used here:
The optional subtitle refinement workflow uses faster-whisper to listen to generated WAV
files and create SRT, VTT, TXT, JSON, and log outputs closer to actual speech timing.

Important boundary:
faster-whisper is the optimized transcription runtime. If it downloads or uses separate
Whisper-family model files, those model files may have their own licenses and redistribution
conditions. Keep those model licenses with any bundled model cache or offline package.

Optional FFmpeg note:
The launcher may offer to install FFmpeg only when ffmpeg is not already available on the
user's PC. FFmpeg is not required for basic Supertonic 3 TTS generation or WAV output.
Skipping FFmpeg does not prevent the local web app from generating TTS audio. However,
non-WAV media input, media conversion, and conversion-based accurate subtitle sync workflows
may be limited without FFmpeg.

This ZIP does not bundle FFmpeg binaries. If the user agrees, 실행.bat installs the Windows
package Gyan.FFmpeg through winget. Gyan's FFmpeg builds are described by the publisher as
GPLv3 builds. FFmpeg itself is generally licensed under LGPLv2.1-or-later, but FFmpeg builds
that include GPL components are governed by GPL terms. Review the upstream legal and build
pages before installing or redistributing FFmpeg:

The web UI MP3 conversion button also uses the user's locally installed FFmpeg. Before it
converts WAV to MP3, the UI displays a short warning twice: personal use is OK, FFmpeg is
not bundled in this ZIP, conversion uses the user's local FFmpeg, and redistribution requires
checking the relevant GPL/LGPL terms.


4) This local ZIP/workspace integration

Package scope:
This workspace combines Supertonic reference material, a local Flask web UI, execution scripts,
sample scripts, generated voice sample previews, and a faster-whisper subtitle refinement helper
into one practical local workflow.

Local integration files:
The files under supertonic3-local-tts, supertonic3-whisper-subtitles, root README files,
root execution scripts, public sample catalogs, and local UI code are integration-layer files
unless a file states otherwise. They do not change the licenses of upstream Supertonic,
Supertonic 3 model weights, faster-whisper, or other dependencies.

Sample scripts and sample voices:
Sample text files and generated sample WAV files are included only for local preview and
testing. Generated sample voices remain subject to the applicable Supertonic 3 model license
and usage restrictions. Do not present generated sample voices as a real person, official
endorsement, or proof of rights to clone or imitate any speaker.

No official endorsement:
This integration package is not the official Supertonic repository, not the official
faster-whisper repository, and not an official Supertone or SYSTRAN product unless those
upstream projects explicitly say so. Do not use upstream names, marks, logos, or links in a
way that implies endorsement.


6. Redistribution checklist

1) Keep this LICENSE_NOTICES.txt file in the ZIP root.

2) Keep the Supertonic upstream license when redistributing copied Supertonic example code.
In this workspace, the upstream license is also available at:

3) If Supertonic 3 model files are bundled, include the upstream model LICENSE file from:

4) If faster-whisper source, wheels, a virtual environment, or model caches are bundled,
include the corresponding faster-whisper MIT license and any model licenses required by the
downloaded transcription model.

5) If FFmpeg binaries are bundled in a future release, include the applicable FFmpeg/Gyan
license notices, source-code offer or source links, and redistribution obligations. The
current ZIP does not bundle FFmpeg.

7) Do not advertise the package only as "free TTS" without also stating that code, model
weights, dependencies, and generated outputs each have separate terms and responsibilities.

8) Add a visible notice near the download button:
This ZIP is a local integration package using Supertonic 3 and faster-whisper. Original code,
model weights, and dependencies follow their own upstream licenses. Generated audio and
subtitles are the user's responsibility and must not be used for impersonation, non-consensual
voice cloning, deception, harassment, unlawful content, or other harmful uses.

If mentioning FFmpeg near the download button, state that FFmpeg is an optional external
installation, not bundled in this ZIP, and that Gyan.FFmpeg is a GPLv3 build.


7. Dependency note

This package may use Python packages such as Flask, NumPy, ONNX Runtime, Hugging Face Hub,
CTranslate2, faster-whisper, and Supertonic. Their package metadata and upstream repositories
remain the source of truth for each dependency license. If a release ZIP includes installed
virtual environments, wheels, or vendored packages, include their license metadata as well.
